Thank you for joining us for Audubon’s 3rd Annual Philly Birding Weekend, October 12 – 13, 2024!
Audubon’s 3rd annual Philly Birding Weekend was hosted October 12 – 13, 2024. Audubon Mid-Atlantic invited people from across the Philadelphia region to join us as we explored some of the city’s iconic green spaces and looked for birds on their fall migration. Each tour was guided by local bird experts from Philly’s birding community. Planned excursions included walks in local parks and cemeteries, including John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge, FDR Park, and a Bike-n-Bird excursion in Fairmount Park!
This year, field trip registration was free! The 2024 event was a celebration of birding in Philadelphia. We happy for those who joined us as we explored the city’s green spaces and saw the amazing birds that can be found here.
We are very grateful to our Philly Birding Partners for their support:
81 species were tallied during our 2023 event. Click here for the full eBird Trip Report!

The purpose of Audubon’s Philly Birding Weekend is to showcase the city as a critical habitat for birds, particularly during migration, and to share the joy of birds with new audiences. We will provide guided, unique experiences that connect people to natural, local spaces critical for supporting wildlife diversity. Autumn is the ideal season to catch a glimpse of migratory birds on their international journeys, stopping by Philly’s green spaces for a brief visit on their way to warmer wintering grounds.
