MORNING TRIP

Center City Birding (WALKING)
Time: 8:00 – 10:30 am
Cost: free
Meeting Location: Meet your guides at Sister Cities Café, located at 200 N 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Sister Cities Café is a bird-friendly structure. GPS coordinates: 39.957922, -75.169170

We’ll begin this tour at Sister Cities Café, a bird-friendly building along the historic Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Then we will walk and bird as we make a loop through Center City watching for fall migrants and looking at some of the bird-safe infrastructure Audubon is pushing for in the city. AFTERNOON TRIPS

Fairmount Park Bike-n-Bird (CYCLING)
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Meeting Location: Meet your guides from Indego at the Northeast corner of 33rd and Oxford street. Parking is available at The Discovery Center at 3401 Reservoir Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19121. Park in the visitor lot, opposite the disc golf course. GPS coordinates: 39.981749, -75.188762

Indego bike-share and Audubon are proud to present the first ever Audubon “Bike-N-Bird!” You can bring your own bike, or borrow one. As soon as we get those in need fitted with share bikes from the Indego program, we’ll take a birding bike tour through Fairmount Park! The route will be a 2.1-mile loop, cycling in the paved bike lane of 33rd street. Stops along the way include the historic entrance to the reservoir, Mander Recreation Center, the Philadelphia Water Department, Ormiston Mansion and Pleasant Hill Mansion. Strawberry Mansion is an historic neighborhood in North Philadelphia, directly adjacent to the Discovery Center. With such an important community alongside The Discovery Center, we’ll take the morning to bird through the community along 33rd street as we hear from residents about their shared history with Fairmount Park, Green Spaces, and The Discovery Center!
